Braid Cotton String Wick are made made from all natural cotton with pure long strand ring spun cotton and are attractively white in appearance.
Braid cotton wicking is often used in beeswax, soy, and paraffin candle making.
We have several sizes available, appropriate from anything from taper to pillar candles.
The self-trimming wick stance minimizes or eliminates carbon deposit formation and greatly reduces afterglow.
Candle making, especially with beeswax, is a bit of an subjective art form, but below are some general candle sizing to wick size guidelines.
Depending on the natural wax you’re using and how you prefer your candles to burn, you may find your personal sizing tastes are quite different than the suggestions below.
Experimentation is the only true way to figure out what will work for you and the wax you’ve got.
Braid Wick Sizing – Sizing is approximate and testing is usually needed
21 ply is for thicker tapers or very thin pillars
24 ply is for tapers and skinny soy and paraffin pillar candles
30 ply is for 1-1.5″ beeswax pillars and larger soy and paraffin pillar candles
40 ply is for 2-2.5″ beeswax pillars and larger soy and paraffin pillar candles

How a candle burns depends on may factors such as the type of wick, the size of wick, the amount and type of dyes used, the amount and type of fragrance/essential oils used. So it is recommended for you to do a small test batch first.
