Sodium Benzoate
Sodium benzoate is a preservative added to some sodas, packaged foods, and personal care products to prolong shelf life.
Function: Anti-fungal agent, some activity against bacteria.Combined with Potassium Sorbate in low pH products.
Application:Rinse off and leave on personal care low pH products.
Uses of Sodium Benzoate:
Food: used to prevent spoilage from harmful bacteria, yeasts, and molds.
It also helps maintain freshness in food by helping to slow or prevent changes in color, flavor, PH, and texture.
Drink: used as a preservative in soft drinks to increase the acidity flavor and as a preservative to extend the shelf life.
