Potassium hydroxide/ KOH (often called “potash”) makes liquid soap – flowing, clear or translucent liquid soap.It is used to make liquid soaps and detergents.

Potassium hydroxide solution has a wide range of applications in a variety of industries, from food, consumer care and pharmaceuticals to agriculture and glass manufacturing.

It is also used as an electrolyte in the production of alkaline batteries and to manufacture biodiesel as well as deicers for airport runways.

Potassium Hydroxide is an odorless, white or slightly yellow, flakey or lumpy solid which is often in a water solution.

It is used in making soap, as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries and in electroplating, lithography, and paint and varnish removers.

Tip

Do not add water. Adding water to NaOH & KOH will cause splattering. When diluting, always add NaOH & KOH beads slowly to water. Always mix lye in a well ventilated area or even outdoors.

Storage

• Always keep KOH in the original bottle with the label attached.
• Do not store KOH among food.
• Do not keep in damp, humid areas.
• Always keep KOH locked in a cupboard and out of reach from children and guests.

• THIS PRODUCT IS VERY CORROSIVE
• ALWAYS USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHILE HANDLING.
